Review - The Secret Ingredients of Wishes by Susan Bishop Crispell

First, thanks to Edelweiss for the Advanced Readers Copy. I always like to try new authors. Susan Bishop Crispell qualifies as a new author.

This one was just OK for me...it had a lot of good things going for it, and I didn't hate it. But it wasn't my favorite and I had a hard time staying engaged with the story. I usually don't mind a book with magic in the story line, but this one I had a hard time with. Rachel was a good character, but I didn't always find her and the others around her believable. It lacked a bit of it's magic for me.

An OK read, I loved the baking sections.

Chicken Quest

I have been wanting chickens for years and years, but I am a city girl and chickens didn't seem like something I could have. But I was wrong! In November 2018 our city council passed a chicken ordinance and suddenly my chicken dreams seemed like they could come true! I spent last winter reading everything I could find about chickens and researching everything having to do having chickens in the city, and what types of coops would be best. Review: Wild Horse Springs by Jodi Thomas

Thanks to NetGalley for the Advanced Readers Copy of this one. I read it in January but am a little behind on my blogging. I love a good cowboy story, but this one was just OK. Wild Horse Springs is the fifth in the Ransom Canyon series...but it certainly isn't my favorite of the bunch. This story features sheriff Dan Brigman and Brandi Malone. Brandi is a singer who is running from a loss...she travels from town to town preforming on the stage and trying to forget her past. When danger strikes Brandi ends up running to Dan instead of running away like she usually does. The story also features Lauren Brigman, Dan's daughter, who has come home after her job in Dallas doesn't pan out. Lauren has to decide if home is where her heart is or if she is going to travel back out into the world and try and forge a new life. I have not been posting a lot! The back to school season has been rough with updating schedules, sporting and school events, working full time and adding a dog to our family!
