The Singles Game Review

The Singles Game by Lauren Weisberger portrayed the complicated life of a single, young and attractive tennis player at the top of her game. Charlie suffers an injury in the beginning book at her biggest tennis match to date. She decides that she isn't done playing tennis quite yet and sets out to make some big changes, including firing her long time tennis coach and hiring Todd, whose coaching style is famously tough.

Although Todd helps Charlie improve her game in some ways and totally recreates Charlie's image there are some changes that she comes to realize are not good and starts to question some of her decisions. As Charlie begins to win more and more she asks herself some hard questions.

I loved this book, it was well written and Charlie was a great character. The one downside was a cliff hanger that was too big! I like to know what happens...

Chicken Quest

I have been wanting chickens for years and years, but I am a city girl and chickens didn't seem like something I could have. But I was wrong! In November 2018 our city council passed a chicken ordinance and suddenly my chicken dreams seemed like they could come true! I spent last winter reading everything I could find about chickens and researching everything having to do having chickens in the city, and what types of coops would be best. Our local pet store orders chicks from a local hatchery, and I decided to get chicks from the May shipment. I read about each of the types of chicks in that shipment and decided to get an assortment. Review: Wild Horse Springs by Jodi Thomas

Thanks to NetGalley for the Advanced Readers Copy of this one. I read it in January but am a little behind on my blogging. I love a good cowboy story, but this one was just OK. Wild Horse Springs is the fifth in the Ransom Canyon series...but it certainly isn't my favorite of the bunch. This story features sheriff Dan Brigman and Brandi Malone. Brandi is a singer who is running from a loss...she travels from town to town preforming on the stage and trying to forget her past. When danger strikes Brandi ends up running to Dan instead of running away like she usually does. The story also features Lauren Brigman, Dan's daughter, who has come home after her job in Dallas doesn't pan out. Lauren has to decide if home is where her heart is or if she is going to travel back out into the world and try and forge a new life. I have not been posting a lot! The back to school season has been rough with updating schedules, sporting and school events, working full time and adding a dog to our family! I have been reading and listening to books though! Here are a few I loved the last few weeks!
